There were a few key reasons that went into Dr. Salm’s decision to become a general dentist. He always wanted to work in the medical field where he could have continuity of care and build lasting relationships with patients. He also wanted a field where he could fix things with his hands, something he learned to love after working at a shoe repair shop growing up. Patients leaving his office with a happy smile is a cherry on top.
Dr. Salm earned his degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY, where he treated a diverse population of patients in both clinical and hospital settings. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, Hartford Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Ironically enough, Dr. Salm grew up in West Hartford and was a patient at Select Dental (previously Barnett and Shoflick Family Dentistry). He could not pass up the amazing opportunity to join the team at Select Dental and is looking forward to being a part of this practice for years to come! When not in the office, Dr. Salm enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, reading a good book, golfing, and rooting on his favorite teams.
