At Select Dental, we save you time, convenience and treatment cost by completing the entire dental implant procedure in-house. Below is an overview of the dental implant process, from start to finish:

One-on-One Consultation

During this personalized visit, we take time to review your medical and dental histories, examine your mouth through clinical evaluation and low-radiation x-rays, and learn more about your oral health concerns, tooth replacement needs and smile goals. This information allows us to customize your dental implants procedure and plan for implant success.

Personalized Treatment Planning

This critical phase in the implant process is important for planning the best location for your dental implants and generating predictable results. Our general dentists and periodontist carefully review cone beam CT 3D images of your jaw, bone, nerves and existing teeth, and strategically plan for dental implants positioning and angulation within the jawbone. We determine the number of dental implants needed to restore your oral health and smile, and whether bone grafting or other preparatory procedures are required for implant success, and review your treatment options with you.

Surgical Placement of Dental Implants

On the day of your dental implant surgery, we administer sedation services (if needed) and thoroughly numb the gums, bone and nerves in treatment sites. Our periodontist then prepares your dental implant sites by extracting severely damaged or diseased teeth and adding bone grafting material, if necessary. With guided implant surgery techniques, he precisely positions your dental implants within the bone. In many cases, you can leave our office with new teeth on the same day as implant surgery! Our general dentists attach temporary crowns or other restorations to render your dental implants functional and natural-looking.

Healing Phase

Over the next three to six months, your dental implants will fuse with surrounding bone through a process called osseointegration. We monitor your progress closely to facilitate proper healing, which minimizes the risk of potential complications.

Final Restoration Delivery

When your dental implant sites are fully healed, we remove any temporaries, attach your permanent teeth and check your bite for comfort to complete your healthy, attractive smile. Dental implants are a near replication of real teeth and are typically cared for as such. Daily, meticulous homecare and routine cleanings and exams are the protocol for maintaining your healthy implant sites and longevity of your tooth replacement.
